I think people need to take time out of their busy lives to take a walk. Studies have shown that when you take a break from a stressful environment you thrive more at work. There are many trails around this area. One of my favorites would be Franko's Farm. Up the hill from Salisbury High School, this park is used for anything from hunting to soccer practice to fishing. Growing up I would come here with my dad. We would walk down the trails together. When I was 12 he took me there to go hunting. It was great to be able to bond with my dad like this.

We would spend a lot of time there. As I got older we ended up going there less and less. I was drawn back recently this year. I needed to get some pictures for my photography course. The walk was enlightening. I went with my mother. A little context: I had been having personal issues with my mother since she rekindled her relationship with my dad and had a run in with my store manager. In short: I didn't trust her much. When we took that walk I felt like her daughter again. Without even saying much, I felt okay again.

It was something about being with those trees. Out of all the things they have seen, my issues must have been nothing in comparison. I felt good. I made my dad go along with me after that. He needed to lose weight in preparation for his surgery so I made him take a walk with me after dinner. I felt that childlike wonder again. Again, I think everyone should experience this.
